I don't normally give the plot away of our book but this recent tragedy in Orlando just proves that we still struggle as LGBT community members to be accepted and to be treated equally without a threat.

I got an advice back then to veer away from my usual LGBT themed art pieces. That advice aims to make my art more universally appreciated in the country if not the whole world. However, I know I can do it but something inside of me does not want to conform just to make it. I have worked my way up to be recognized as an emerging LGBT visual artist in San Francisco and some parts of the US albeit its slow pace, I believe I have made it and have been doing just fine.

Now I firmly believe that my pieces have never been more relevant than ever. We will continue to advocate for tolerance, acceptance, understanding and equality; and my art will continue to do so.

#WeAreOrlando #NeverLiveInFear

The Day We Become Orlando....

https://marconicalindas.weebly.com/marconi-blog--art/the-day-we-become-orlando

https://marconicalindas.weebly.com/marconi-blog--art/the-day-we-become-orlando#comments

Uncategorized

This recent event has really affected me. No feelings to express, but anger, sadness and sorrow. As part of the LGBT community, this tragedy is indeed very close to home. I have been sad, crying and just waking up in the morning is never the same. How could the word hate be that strong? Losing 49 vibrant lives is just unfathomable. I don't want to be in the shoes of their family and closest friends. I will never totally feel what they feel right now. All I can feel is that it could happen to anyone of us. Our safe haven, where we gather and choose to be ourselves is now being targeted, threatened by hate. However, we should and will never live in fear. We will continue to gather, to express ourselves, kiss and love anyone we choose to. America is moving forward and that my friend I will always believe and hope for.

From this day forward, we will never forget Orlando and that night that endangered our freedom. #WeAreOrlando #WeWillNeverLiveInFear

My Digital Tribute...

https://marconicalindas.weebly.com/marconi-blog--art/my-digital-tribute

https://marconicalindas.weebly.com/marconi-blog--art/my-digital-tribute#comments

Uncategorized

Muhammad Ali"Cassius Clay"What else can I say, but may you rest in peace in heaven.
